Today, one of the worst things that can happen to me as a "photographer" (I use this distinction over Photographer as I accept I'm no pro) happened. I created a simple volume in Windows and several partitions on the same disk, including all my (60GB) photographs going back to 2005 simply disappeared in the blink of an eye.
The 3 "r"s of blog life; reviews, rants and reading material. The opinions expressed in this blog are my own and not necessarily those of my employer (whoever that my be at the point of reading). So "ner".

Pet Project
Last year I bought a Blue-ray player. While I've not had the capacity to use it half as much as I would like, I have found a few bug-bears with some of the Viera apps.

Automated confusion
http://bit.ly/QxflEh
This reports on legislation for driverless cars in California, adding to the list of (1) states (nevada). One person involed in it all has the vision of driverless cars to empower those that cannot drive including the disabled, the intoxicated(!) and blind travellers. The boot note however still indicates that these cars would require a licenced driver to be present behind the wheel should manual intervention be required. Neat trick...
Such unified direction does not inspire confidence.

Of Heroes and the Actions of Man
I quite enjoy Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. I've yet to see the second, or the Avengers film but from all the recent super hero films, besides batman, it's one of my favorites. My only concern is why super heroes are once again in the sights of Hollywood and film makers.

Thoughts on BI: Data vs. Information
During my twitter support for NeutrinoBI at the Gartner conference in London the other week (remote support that is), I found myself in the position of commenting on a post that I didn't entirely agree with.
